Advices from our vets
It is important that you don’t leave your cat in a difficult situation, in particular if it is scared or stressed in common circumstances or during recurring events. Cats need an environment that is adapted to them. Prolonged stress can lead to serious disorders, in particular urinary disorders (cystitis). You can anticipate these delicate situations and prepare them with food supplements and a few measures that are easy to implement. This can be the case during travel, or in presence or certain noises like storms or fireworks.
In certain cases, such as in the event of phobias, it is necessary to put in place what is called a progressive, habituation, “behavioural therapy”, with the help of a supplement that facilitates the learning process. In the most severe cases, no habituation is possible, and your veterinarian can recommend medicine to use in case of need.
