Digestive System

Constipation in dogs manifests as infrequent, hard, and dry stools, along with unsuccessful attempts to defecate. Left untreated, it can progress to fecal impaction, requiring surgical intervention.

**Constipation** in dogs is defined by a reduced frequency of bowel movements. Stools are often hard and dry. It’s essential to monitor your dog’s bowel movements daily. Often, when suffering from constipation, your dog will attempt to defecate without success. If left untreated, constipationcan worsen, and stools may form what is known as a fecal impaction—a hardened mass of dry, compacted feces that cannot be passed without surgical intervention.
