"If you're browsing the Internet with Internet Explorer 3 or 4 (Microsoft): click **View**, **Options**, **Advanced**. Among the various warnings you can enable, the fourth is labeled **Warn before accepting cookies**, and—only in Internet Explorer 4—the fifth is labeled **Always refuse cookies**."
With Internet Explorer 5: click **Tools**, **Internet Options**, **Security** tab, **Custom Level** button, **"Cookies stored on your computer"** section, and select one of these three options: **Enable** (accept cookies), **Prompt** (ask for permission before storing a cookie), **Disable** (block all cookies).
With Internet Explorer 6: click **"Tools"**, **"Internet Options"**, then the **"Privacy"** tab, and adjust the slider based on your chosen security level (from zero—accept all cookies—to maximum—block all cookies).
If you're browsing the internet with Navigator Gold 3 (Netscape): click **"Options"**, then **"Network Preferences"**, and **"Protocols"**. Among the various warnings you can enable, the first is labeled **"Warn before accepting a cookie"**. You’ll then be notified when a cookie is received, allowing you to block its storage by your browser.
With Netscape Communicator 4.75: From the Edit menu, select **"Preferences"**, then click on the **"Advanced"** category, then click on one of the radio buttons (**Accept all cookies**, **Accept only cookies sent back to the originating server**, **Disable all cookies**).
If you’ve chosen to accept cookies, you can request to be notified of cookies received by Communicator by selecting: **Warn me before accepting a cookie**. Remember that you can also delete cookies stored on your computer at any time and individually by referring to your device’s user manual.
