From European Regulations… to Certification
After helping drive the rise of organic farming in the 1980s—particularly through drafting French and European regulations—a group of engineers, alongside consumers, doctors, and educators, founded the Ecocert® group in 1991. Ecocert® is a certification and inspection body in the organic and environmental sector. The values upheld by this globally renowned player are

- improved product quality and safety.
These key aspects are "essential to addressing today’s economic, social, and environmental challenges and building the world of tomorrow".
For 30 years, Ecocert® has supported 70,000 clients worldwide. Today, the group has expanded its reach to numerous sectors, including household products, textiles, wood and forestry, and cosmetics. Through certification, training, and consulting, Ecocert aims to empower organizations with a positive social and environmental impact.
The guarantee of natural and organic ingredient sourcing
To ensure consumers that all ingredients used in product formulations are of natural origin, Ecocert® has developed the Cosmos standard. This framework, designed for raw material producers, cosmetic product manufacturers, brands, and all stakeholders in the "cosmetics" sector, includes all certified organic raw materials, perfumers offering compliant fragrance compositions, and verified packaging suppliers. The standard also lists ingredients processed using environmentally and human-health-friendly methods—such as preservatives, which, though processed, remain essential for formulation stability. Brands seeking certification must therefore source from this list to incorporate green chemistry-derived ingredients into their formulations.
All products marketed with the Ecocert® logo are subsequently verified by Ecocert® teams at every level: from composition to processing methods, right through to packaging!

EcoSoinBio for Animals is the animal hygiene and care product certification standard created by Ecocert® in 2017. This approach takes a holistic view of ecological practices, particularly by addressing the environmental impact of hygiene and care products, setting high standards of quality and rigor, and covering the entire processing chain for animal hygiene or care products.
MP Labo's EcoSoinBio Commitments for Animals:
- Prioritize natural and/or renewable resources (minimum 95% naturally sourced ingredients), ideally from Organic Farming (minimum 10%);
- Prioritize formulations with the lowest possible environmental impact;
- Prioritize the least harmful transformation processes for the environment;
- Ensure transparency for consumers through simple, standardized communication and rigorously controlled traceability (using INCI – International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients);
- Minimize packaging, or when necessary, opt for recyclable or biodegradable materials;
- Avoid GMOs, synthetic fragrances and dyes, parabens, nanoparticles, and silicones.
Water cannot be considered organic, as it does not come from agriculture! The same applies to minerals. This is why, in certain formulations where water is the main component, the percentage of certified organic ingredients appears so low.
